I like motorcycles because there is a oneness between me and the machine. There is no mindlessness when riding — one must be alert and focused upon all that is going on in the immediate vicinity as well as ahead.

Unlike being in a cage (car), you FEEL the air around you. My favorite is when I pass through an area of cooler air during a ride. Also, you get to experience the scent of the air around you. I love riding a twisty back road and smelling the fresh earth in a newly dug field.

There’s also the company of my fellow bikers. We wave as we pass, greet one another as if we’ve known each other for years, and pull over to help someone in need.
Then there’s the simple pleasure of being in the breeze. If you insist on asking, I’m afraid there’s nothing I can say to effectively explain it. After you’ve experienced it, nothing anybody else can say can ever change how you feel about it.
