Everyone is dyeing their hair red right now. From the ‘cowgirl copper hair‘ to varying degrees of ginger, red is the trending color at the moment. But leave it to Megan Fox to go an entirely different direction with her red hue. Hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos shared Fox’s new look on Instagram calling her hair “the red velvet lob” and it’s seriously stunning.

“Major hair change for Megan!,” Giannetos wrote. “French bob and red velvet shade looks soooo good!” In the captions, he wrote “#notawig” so that answers the question we all had. Truly, the red shade is so bright and bold, we thought it was faux at first. But he shared exactly how he got Fox’s hair color.

Giannetos didn’t mention lightening Fox’s hair so it must have been on the lighter side to begin with. (Or he bleached it a bit.) He did share that he applied Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Semi-Permanent Hair Color in Valentine ($18.79 at Walmart) mixed with Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Dye Full Coverage in Flaming Red ($20.99 at Amazon
).

He also cut her hair into this cool-girl bob hitting right above her shoulders. To lock in her style, he sprayed on some of the cult-fave L’Oréal Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Hairspray ($14.99 at Ulta Beauty). Makeup artist Jenna Kristina did her glam, which looks like a soft wing liner and natural-looking lips.

Fox took her new look out for a spin in NYC today with Machine Gun Kelly. The two had a rough start to the year but are now apparently “on the right track,” according to Us Weekly. “They’re on the right track again,” an insider told the magazine. “They’ve had so much success in therapy together. As they start to trust each other, they’ve been talking about getting married again.” There you go!
